Genealogy expert Thomas MacEntee announces new online genealogy presentations for genealogical society meetings at just $100 each!
More and more genealogical and historical societies scramble to provide at-home, online educational offerings and society meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many societies are not equipped to offer their own webinars or online meetings and others are looking for quality educational content for their members.
I’m Thomas MacEntee, and I’ve been lecturing about genealogy, technology, and family history since 2010. I currently have over 70 different topics related to genealogy and family history that can help your group provide engaging and actionable education to your members.
New Genealogy Presentations!
Don’t Chop Off That Branch! A Genealogy Arborist’s Handbook
You’re at a crossroads when it comes to years of genealogy research: should you delete an entire branch of your family tree due to faulty research? Or is there a better way to correct family history research errors and salvage information that took years to find? Participants will learn the best ways to resolve genealogical research errors that normally would result in sawing off several branches of your family tree. Using a real example, see the different paths you could chose to correct bad research and still retain that branch of your tree!
Hiding Out in the Open: Discovering LGBT Family History
You may have heard family stories about an relative who was “different” or perhaps you’ve discovered someone who simply “disappeared.” Have you considered the possibility that you could have a gay or lesbian relative in your family tree? LGBT (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgendered) people can be found when researching genealogy, but the search syntax, keywords and strategies are very different. By understanding the basics of “gay history” as well as how LGBT folk lived, worked and socialized, you’ll not only locate these relatives, but realize the importance of preserving their stories.

Genealogy Society Webinars for Just $100
Wait! Just $100? YES! I am available to present lectures “virtually” to your society via Zoom, GoToWebinar, and other popular platforms. Webinars have become standard within the genealogy community and these virtual education platforms allow attendees to see me via webcam before and during the lecture. My platform accounts allow up to 500 attendees in each event from home as well.
My current fee is $100 for a 60-minute webinar as part of a regularly scheduled society meeting. I provide the platform software and I record the presentation for the society to use in its member’s only section of its website. This offer is good only for one (1) webinar per day; online events with more than one webinar have a different price structure. Click HERE to download my “pitch” document with ALL the information you need to have me offer an online presentation to your group.
