Most of the sales on Ancestry memberships will not allow an existing member to take advantage of the savings … the sale is intended for new members only. But here’s how I’ve used the tree sharing trick above to get around that. KEEP IN MIND: you really only save if you have 1 month or less remaining on your current Ancestry membership!
- Login at Ancestry. Go to Settings and make sure the AUTO RENEW on your current membership is set to OFF.
- Click the sale link above and use a new email address (created on one of the popular email platforms such as Gmail or Outlook) to create a NEW Ancestry account and purchase the membership … and don’t forget to enter any coupon codes if required!
- Once the new Ancestry account is active, login as the OLD account, then invite the NEW account to your tree (use the Editor role for full access).
Now you’ll have access to your tree using the new Ancestry account with the discounted membership!
